Eagle Choir

The Eagle Choir is made up of parents, staff and friends of Bedford School. Charles Martin formed the choir in 1998 and since then it has performed a number of major works, including the Requiems by Fauré, Duruflé, Mozart and Brahms, The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins, John Rutter’s Mass of the Children, Carmina Burana and A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten. In April 2008 the choir celebrated its 10th Anniversary and performed Handel’s Messiah in St Peter’s Church in Bedford. The choir also enjoys singing a more light hearted repertoire (from Gershwin, Cole Porter and Henry Mancini to Abba and the Beatles), and has sung at Bedford School events, at the Corn Exchange, Bedford Hospital and various nursing homes. The Eagle Choir has sung at Kathy Brown’s National Garden Scheme Open Evening in Stevington. It has performed in Bedford School Chapel, St Peter’s and St Paul’s churches in Bedford, All Saints, Odell and St Mary’s Church, Buckden. The annual ‘Carols with the Eagle Choir’ in December has helped to raise money for a variety of charities and features our now legendary ‘Twelve days of Christmas’ complete with actions.
